The family of the late Aji Fatou Badjan, yesterday expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation to the president of the Republic, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya AJJ Jammeh, through the vice president, Aja Dr Isatou Njie-Saidy, for the support given to them on the demise of their love one.
The late Aji Fatou Badjan was an APRC womenÂ's leader in the Kanifing Municipality. The family members who met the vice president at her office at State House highlighted the generous assistance of the Gambian leader from the time when their love one was admitted in hospital until her sudden demise recently.
Alhaji Momodou Satou Conateh, the husband of the late Aji Fatou and the family were accompanied to State House by stalwarts of the ruling APRC party in the Kanifing Municipality, led by Yankuba Colley, mayor of the Kanifing Municipal Council, and Honourable Sulayman Joof, the National Assembly member for Serrekunda West Constituency, among others.
In his introductory remarks, Hon. Joof told the VP that they were at State House to thank President Jammeh for his generous assistance offered during the funeral of the late Aji Fatou Badjan and even when she was admitted at the hospital before she passed away.
Honourable Sulayman Joof described the demise of the late Aji Fatou Badjan as a sad news for the party and expressed appreciation for the support undertaken by the Gambian leader during the funeral. He prayed for GodÂ's forgiveness to the late Aji Fatou Badjan and all other Muslims.
He heaped praises on the late Aji Fatou Badjan for her sacrifice and relentless support to the APRC party since the onset. Yankuba Colley, mayor of KMC, also thanked the late Aji Fatou Badjan for her support to the APRC party and the government. He, on behalf of his municipality assured the family of the late Aji Fatou Badjan of his municipalityÂ's continuous support and thanked God for giving The Gambia such a leader like President Jammeh.
Alhaji Momodou Satou Conateh, husband of the late Aji Fatou Badjan also thanked President Jammeh and his government for their support and assured the VP that his family would continue to give President Jammeh their fullest support. Â"We are very much satisfied with what the government had done for us and my self and my family will not leave any stone unturned for the cause of President Jammeh.
Mama Conateh, daughter of the late Aji Fatou Badjan and Mustapha Saine, all spoke at the ceremony and reassured the government of their support. Reacting to the comments, Vice President Njie-Saidy assured the family of the governmentÂ's full support. Â"For us as a government, we lost some body we donÂ't want to lose, but nonetheless this is what everyone is waiting for,Â" said the VP.
She extended the Gambian leaderÂ's sympathy to the family of the late Aji Fatou Badjan and recalled the numerous support undertaken by President Jammeh. VP Njie-Saidy prayed for GodÂ's forgiveness and protection on the family of the late Mrs Badjan. She equally heaped praises on Madam Badjan for her stance in the APRC party since inception. She assured the family of governmentÂ's support and urged them to accept everything in good faith, adding that this is something that every living thing is expected to have a taste of.
