Tunis — Socialist Democrats Movement (MDS) secretary-general Ismail Boulehia underlined the pride the party takes in the Tunisian people's overwhelming majority vote for President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali's re-election for a new term.
Chairing, on Thursday, an MDS politburo meeting, the secretary-general underlined that this re-election, which is so promising for Tunisia, will pave the way for brilliant prospects to strengthen the gains and achievements accomplished in Tunisia and help it carry on progress on the path of reform and growth to join the advanced countries' ranks, by betting on its own potentialities and total adherence of all the Tunisians to the civilisational project whose outlines were fixed by the November 7th, 1987 Declaration.
He voiced, on behalf of the MDS politburo members and the party's cadres and activists, high consideration and heartiest congratulations, on the occasion of the 22nd anniversary of the Change which, he said, "completely transformed Tunisia's image."
He reiterated MDS's commitment to contribute actively to the materialisation of the national targets, as part of concord, freedom of decision and sovereignty of the people. The meeting of the party's politburo focused on carrying on examination of MDS's activities in 2010, placed under the motto "Year of Youth's Re-integration."
