The opposition Liberty Party (LP) is expected to hold Monrovia and its environs at a stands till When it carry out a formal campaign rally today, November 6,2009 at the Antoinette Tubman stadium (ATS).
A campaign rally organized by the opposition Liberty Party (LP) aimed at introducing its candidate in the Montserrado County senatorial By-election ( Abraham Darius Dillon) to grass rooters and the down trodden masses, is expected to formally be launched at the ATS.
The march which begins at 11:00 am will commence on two fronts. One group of supporters will begin marching from the Monrovia City Hall, Sinkor, while another group is expected to crush in on the capitol from Vai Town, Bushrod Island and simultaneously, they are anticipated to gather at the ATS where the party's standard bearer Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine including the party's executives, partisans, supporters, well wishers, grass rooters and the down trodden masses will congregate in order to grace the occasion.
Additionally, buses will be provided to transport people from across Montserrado beginning at the venues underscored to the ATS where a formal program will be held to climax the day.
According to a party executive who spoke to our reporter, said, the rally will pull not less than 100,000 people from across Montserrado, and it also promises to be a fascinating event which will be characterized by intriguing political speeches, campaign messages and statements from a cross section of grass rooters and the general masses.
"We are prepared to hold Monrovia at a stand still. As far as we are concerned, our campaign for the election of Dillon to the Liberian Senate has so far gone well. Most of the people spoken to expressed delights about his candidacy and stanch advocacy against corruption and other ills in our society. Even staffers at the capitol building where Mr. Dillon works presently, have acknowledged his unwavering perseverance in the struggle for the less fortunate and the improvement of the lives of down trodden masses" a party Stewart averred.
Hours before the planed rally was announced, the party had already rocked the Paynesville Township and its nearby communities with high level of enthusiasm as well as sending them into political flames, and it is expected that the party's candidate, Darius Dillon, will pull a significant number of votes during the election on November 10, 2009 because, observers say, most of the supporters who are youth driven, have expressed their sincere happiness and promised to elect Mr. Dillon on November 10,2009 as their choice for the senatorial seat come what may.
