Cape Coast — The oldest Central Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Organiser, Alhaji Ben Jibrine, on Monday appealed to the NPP members to work hard to bring back the party to power in the 2012 elections.
Speaking to the press in Cape Coast, he said it was high time NPP members stop the blame game, and forged ahead in unity to win power from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, nobody can fault NPP's defeat in the 2008 elections, and that it might be God's plan to ensure peace in Ghana, therefore, members of the party should endeavour to stop pointing accusing fingers at some people for causing the defeat. He said, looking at the polling station elections conducted recently, the party was poised for victory in 2012, and called on all party members to gear up for the victory.
Turning to his reason for contesting for the first vice chairmanship slot of the NPP in Central Region, Alhaji Jibrine, who is 62 years, contended that he has the experience to revive the party in the region and also mobilise the grassroots for the victory of the party.
He said he had worked with prominent NPP men and has drawn some vital experiences from them that could help him lead the party in the region. "I am a founding member of the NPP and have been Central Regional Organiser for 17 years", he said, explaining that he could work with any high profile member of the party.
He warned polling station executives to vote for executives who can work with them and not rich people who will buy them with money.
