Gambia: Ajax, Pencha Final, Rescheduled

Ajax and Pencha on Sunday played a derby final at the Serrekunda West mini Stadium.

The game ended in one all draw but was later postponed when there was no winner, but the West committee decided to play the game again on Friday. Ajax could have been the lucky winner if at all they had capitalized on the 10 man squad of Pencha whose captain had been red carded in the second half.

Ajax first opened the scoreline when their star striker Tamsir Jammeh was brought down in the box in the first half, which resulted to a penalty kick,. Therefore Ajax made no mistake as this was the best opportunity for them to take the lead. Ebrima Drammeh for Ajax opens the score sheet from the penalty spot to give his side the lead.

Ajax after scoring in 27 minute later dominated the ball possession from Pencha that were considered the favourites.

Pencha Number 10 Haruna Barry also got a clear chance when his shot touched the cross bar. Before Ajax came with an opener, Pencha retreated back in 36 minutes of the half from Alieu Gassama, the captain he also level points through a sport kick when one of their players was brought down.

Gassama the Captain was later red carded when he consider the second yellow in the filed of play, which they were reduced to 10 man, Ajax therefore could have capitalize on Gassama absent but nothing went good for them as the game end in one all, and it was scheduled for replay.

According to Amat Cham the PRO said it is in their agenda that whenever a final is ended like this they have to replay the game.
