Right after celebrating Africa, her musicians and the immense talent she has, MTV is hosting another glamorous event where Europe's talent will be appreciated. MTV Europe Awards 2009 would be DStv channel 322 tomorrow Monday November 9 at 22:00 CAT as it heads back to the place where it all started. . . Berlin!

The 2008 Awards, which took place in Liverpool, featured host Katy Perry and performances by artists including Beyonce, P!nk, The Killers, Estelle, Kanye West and Kid Rock.

This year's event will be hosted at the brand new, state-of-the-art O2 World Arena and the much-anticipated, never-disappointing, show stopping performances will be the order of the day as hosts Katy Perry and Pete Wentz carry the show.

Since exploding onto the music scene in 2008 with her smash hit "I Kissed a Girl" Perry's determination, song writing ability and vocal talent have led to a fairytale year for the pop icon. Her platinum Top 10 debut album One for the Boys has sold over 2 million copies worldwide and has spawned another hit Hot and Cold while her video for the single received one of the highest viewership's of all time on MySpace. She also won an award for Best New Act at last year's EMA's.

Bassist, lyricist and entrepreneur Pete Wentz who made his mark in music with band, Fall Out Boy will join Perry as the digital host. In the last five years, all three of Fall Out Boy's albums have been received exceedingly well by the world. Wentz hosted the 2009 MTV Australia Awards and he will be bringing his own brand of rock n'roll to the EMA's in this month.

This year's awards will not only be celebrating music that has been voted for by the public, they will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall. The 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards is one of the world's most prestigious live music events. The Awards will be screened across 212 million homes in more than 40 countries which include Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

This is the fourth time that the Awards will be held in Germany as it returns to the original city where it was launched in 1994 to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Some of this years' line up of performing artists include Foo Fighters, Green Day, Jay Z, Leona Lewis, Robbie Wiliams, Shakira and Tokio Hotel. They will be assisted by a talented lineup of presenters which include Asia Argento, Backstreet Boys, Bar Rafaeli, Batista, Boris Becker, Jean Reno, Joss Stone, Juliette Lewis and the Jonas Brothers.

DStv audiences can catch the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards on November 9 at 22:00 CAT on MTV Base.
