Nairobi — A Sh147 million fraud case involving Uchumi supermarkets has been pushed to next year to await the Court of Appeal to endorse a letter said to have been signed by the Attorney General asking that the case be stopped.
The endorsement from the Court of Appeal was expected today after the case was adjourned, but on Friday, the court was told that the document had not been signed because the AG did not send a representative.
Businessman Chris Kirubi and 13 others are accused of defrauding Uchumi supermarkets by selling a piece of land on which the retail chain's Aga Khan Walk branch stands, for Sh147 million.
