Nigeria: Bauchi Nawoj Embarks on Sanitation Exercise

Bauchi — THE Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Bauchi State chapter has embarked on sanitation exercise as part of effort to ensure clean environment in the state.

The sanitation exercise which commenced as early as 7.30 a.m. yesterday lasted for five hours and the exercise was carried out at Wunti and Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium where the U-17 championship is going on.

According to the state secretary of NAWOJ, Fibi Kafi, the exercise was part of the activities marking the 20th anniversary of the association which kicks off today in Abuja.

She said the exercise would be carried out in all the 36 states of the federation, adding: "As we are cleaning our environment in Bauchi, other states too are doing so based on the instruction we received from the national headquarters.

"Even when we get to Abuja next week (this week), we shall also embark on similar exercise as well as visit the less-privileged homes to make donations to the motherless children," she said.

Fibi assured that the sanitation exercise would be a continuous process in Bauchi in their effort to complement the state government's effort in keeping the environment clean to enable the residents of the state live in a healthy environment.
