Kampala — TWO MTN engineers, Joseph Muyanja and George Kizza Mbidde, testified in the trial of Godfrey Kato-Kajubi.
Kajubi was charged with murdering a 12-year-old boy, Joseph Kasirye, in a ritual sacrifice. Muyanja and Mbidde were required to produce evidence showing that Kajubi made telephone calls to a witchdoctor, Umaru Kateregga, the principal witness in the case.
The court had earlier been told that Kajubi and Kateregga communicated by telephone during the time the boy was murdered. The calls were allegedly made on the MTN network.
When asked by the court, the engineers said it was not possible to tap and secure details of telephone calls in audio or text print-outs.
According to Kateregga, who was at first a co-accused in the case, the victim was murdered in his (Kateregga's) house on October 27, 2008 by Steven, Kajubi's aide, under Kajubi's supervision.
