Nigeria: Adamawa to Build N4 Billion Hospital

Lagos — The Adamawa State Government, at the weekend signed an agreement with a German medical consortium for the construction of a N4 billion specialist hospital that would offer Nigerians the opportunity of accessing comparable quality services available anywhere in the world.

Nyako said when he was signing the contract with Munchner Medizin Mechanik (MMM German) group of companies for the delivery of a functional unit for diagnostic, operation and general medical purposes at the new Specialist Hospital, Yola, that he was committed to the hospital project as part of his administration's determination towards the improvement of health care delivery in the state.

Nyako also said the Adamawa/German Hospital when completed will be of world class that can cater for all types of diagnostic cases and treatment as well as reducing the rate in which people are travelling abroad for such cases.

He disclosed that it was the major contribution of his administration towards improving the health sector, stressing that the important of citing the hospital in the State Capital is aimed at attracting businesses thereby improving the economic fortunes of the state.

He said the hospital needs standard equipment to stand the test of time, stressing that the giant stride in actualizing the German Standard diagnostic unit was the greatest thing of joy that ever happened in the history of Adamawa State, adding that the diagnostic Centre is part of the first phase which is expected to be completed in 9 months while the phase II will be on the teaching hospital.

The Governor therefore called on the people of the state to continue to give their support to the present administration to enable the government transform the health sector and provide them with democracy dividends.

The Chairman of the Committee for the actualisation of the hospital who is also the Secretary to the State Government, Kobi's Ari Thimnu said the vision, policies and programmes of the government in the health sector shall no doubt deliver efficient, qualitative, affordable and effective health care services and improve the health status of the people.

While thanking the foreign partners, the MMM Group from Germany for taking the interest to partner with Adamawa State in its efforts to transform the health sector, the SSG called on the entire people of the state to support the purposeful and programmatic administration to deliver more dividends of democracy at the grassroots.
