Recently Standard Chartered Bank yet again introduced Yoola Omudidi Campaign Season 3. East African Business Week talked to the HEAD OF CONSUMER BANKING at Standard Chartered Bank Herman Kasekende about the campaign and below are the excerpts.
What is Yoola Omudidi Season 3 all about and why the name Yoola Omudidi?
We came up with the name Yoola Omudidi to reflect the magnitude of excitement that comes with the campaign and the wide range of opportunities for customers to win big.
We have run this campaign for three consecutive years and over the years it has been getting bigger, better and more rewarding for our customers. In 2006, we run the famous "Live Your Dream" Promotion in which we gave away a brand new Mercedes C200. Yoola Omudidi Season Three is simply part of a series of savings drives initiated by Standard Chartered Bank with an objective of spearheading the savings culture in Uganda while rewarding customer loyalty and creating excitement within the banking industry.
How does one join the campaign?
The campaign is open to both new and existing customers holding or opening either personal or business (SME) accounts. It is targeted at local currency current and savings accounts. These include: the ordinary current or savings accounts, flat fee account and SmartBanking for salaried customers, safari savings, safari junior account, DIVA Club Account, the International trade Account and the Non Profit Organization account among others.
To join the campaign, existing customers need to maintain a minimum of USh 500,000 while new customers have to open an account with a minimum of USh 500,000. Every addition deposit of USh 500,000 increases one's chances of winning.
What does one stand to win?
The campaign will be complemented by monthly draws, regional draws and the Grand Draw to be held in March, 2010. The monthly prizes include: 42 Inch LCD screens, laptops connected with internet for one month, DSTV dishes and decoders with one month's subscription, all expenses paid holiday trips and Blackberry phones.

Finally one lucky customer will drive away in a Brand Toyota New Land Cruiser. This campaign has been organized in partnership with Toyota Uganda, MultiChoice Uganda, Broadband Company, Emirates and Appliance World.
