Somalia — MOGADISHU (Sh. M. Network) - former members of Banadir region administration have Saturday boycotted the newly nominated administration of Banadir region.
Axmed Adan Shidde, the former deputy chairman of Banadir region for finance affairs held a press conference in the administration's headquarter in Mogadishu and opposed the newly designated administration harshly which appointed by the Somali president Sharif Sheik Ahmed pointing out that they were planning new elections for Banadir region administration.
He said that there was no one who informed them the announcement of the new administration of Banadir region adding that they wanted to call for the local council of the region for a meeting which is supposed to gather and discuss the new nomination of Banadir Administration.
Mr. Shidde also stressed that he is now the acting mayor of the Banadir region.
The statement of the of the former Banadir administration official comes as a new administration was nominated by the president of Somalia Sharif Sheikh Axmed on Friday in a highly decorated ceremony held in the presidential palace in Mogadishu.
