Bauchi — Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has urged intending Muslims pilgrims to exhibit morality and sense of belonging when performing this year's Hajj.
He said this during his goodwill message to the intending pilgrims in Bauchi, saying performing Hajj was one of the five obligatory pillars of Islam.
Yuguda also told to the intending pilgrims the importance of the pilgrimage to Muslims ummah saying, "This is a place you are expected to worship, seek for forgiveness, pray so that you should be forgiven of your deeds, is not a place for pleasure, please and please try and understand the importance of what took you there"
He then called on all the intending pilgrims to learn much from the books distributed to them on how to perform the pilgrimage saying: "Acquiring knowledge is very important to you because without the knowledge, how can you perform the pilgrimage therefore if you are confused or have any difficult please don't hesitate to ask from the officials of the Bauchi State Hajj committee, any guidance we have, ulamas, doctors and preachers among them, are there to look after you."
He said it was a privilege to be selected amongst 4.6 million people of Bauchi State to perform the Hajj, only 3,670 are performing this years Hajj from the state.
Yugudan pledged to support the pilgrims with good accommodation, Holy books (Quran), meal of N12,000 to each intending pilgrims.
