Uganda: Tornado B Out to Avoid Relegation

Four Premier League (Super 7) clubs in the Castle Lager National Cricket League will be avoiding falling into the drop zone when action takes centre stage at five ovals all over the country.

Africa Cricket Club (ACC), Tornado B, Kampala Institute of Cricket Clubs (KICC) and Rounders all have the relegation monster staring at them straight in their faces will be seeking vital wins.

The ACC (18 points) versus Tornado B (10 points) clash at the unpredictable lakeside Entebbe oval will be the highlight of the weekend. Tornado B sit at the bottom of the Super 7 standings and a loss would justify their fears of playing in the unwanted Plate League next year.

But batting all-rounder Fred Isabirye believes Tornado B can wake up from their slumber and complete an inevitable league double over ACC whom they beat in the first round.

"We can beat ACC again. One thing I'm sure about this season is that we are not to be relegated to the Plate. We have put in sometime in the nets and will focus all our energies on this game," said Isabirye.

Although they won by 7 wickets, ACC could only assemble nine players for their KICC fixture. Team captain Amos Brian Kyazze will be hoping to have a full strength squad at his disposal.

"We can be very dangerous on any day. But we have been far off the pace this season. Tornado B will not be easy as they beat us in the first round. But we are prepared for them," said Kyazze.
