Mengo Magistrates Court has halted media houses from playing two songs composed by local artiste Mathias Walukaga until a pending defamation case filed by city businessman Michael Salongo Kawasuli is determined.
Chief Magistrate Philip Odoki on Friday issued a temporary injunction restraining Mr Walukaga's agents or any person deriving authority under him including radio stations, television station and disco clubs from playing to the public the Tuleppuke and Bwino womutembeyi songs.
Mr Kasawuli the proprietor of Samona Products Company, sued the singer, contending that the songs contain defamatory statements imputing him as "a murderer, serial rapist, defiler and a thief."
