Uganda: Mutebile Gets Doctorate in Banking

Nkumba University on Friday honoured Prof. Tumusiime Mutebile, the Governor of the Bank of Uganda with a doctorate in banking. The chancellor, Dr Maggie Kigozi, said Mr Mutebile was honoured due to his tremendous contribution to the development of the banking sector in the country. "Prof. Mutebile is one of the fine financial managers this country has had. He has spent most of his time in the financial sector. Therefore he suits this degree," Dr Kigozi said.

Prof. Mutebile said: "I thank Nkumba for what they have done, I am very grateful." She requested friends and well-wishers to support Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Nkumba University. "We request you to support the Nkumba University ICT programme as generously as you can."

Dr Kigozi said the university has launched a programmme to establish a state of the art ICT centre."The vision of Nkumba is to be a centre of academic excellence. We need a strong ICT centre," she said.
