Nigeria: Enugu Assembly to Monitor Filling Stations On Prices

MR. Eugene Odoh, the Speaker, Enugu State House of Assembly, has ordered a strict monitoring of activities at filling stations to confirm the prices at which marketers sell petroleum products.

Odo mandated the House Committee on Environment and Petroleum Resources to monitor the activities of stations in Enugu to ascertain those selling products above approved prices.

Giving the directive during the session on Thursday, Odoh said it had become necessary to have well informed data of those hoarding products ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

He enjoined the Committee to report its findings to the House during its plenary on Thursday, Nov. 12.

The speaker also directed various committees to liaise with their respective ministries and parastatal agencies on their budget input to make its passage easy when presented by the governor before the end of November.

Seconding the motion for adjournment, Mr. Christopher Ugwu (Enugu East Rural Constituency), commended the efforts of the security agencies and the Enugu Sub-Seat of LOC for the successful hosting of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Enugu.

The last match at the Enugu Centre was played on Wednesday, November 4.
