Somalia: Ahlu Sunna Troops Display Military Maneuver in Parts of Central Region

The Islamic organization of Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a's troops have displayed military maneuver in parts of Abudwaq district in Galgudud region in central Somalia, officials said on Sunday.

Officials said that the Islamist forces finished military training on Saturday which continued three months in Bali Somalia centre, a place in the east of Abudwaq town in Galgudug region adding that they were given a special dress which they are different from the other people.

Residents said that more well trained troops with heavily armed weapons could be seen patrolling through the neighborhoods in the district adding that they were conducting operations on the streets entering the town and the other areas around the region.

Sheik Burhan Abdullahi Jama'a, the deputy commissioner and acting commissioner of the Ahlu Sunna waljama'a administration in Abudwaq district who was present at the areas where displaying happened had talked to the people and said that the new dress of the troops was meant to be known the troops and people of the town and keep the security of the town.

The clerics said that the Islamist forces of Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a conducted more operations assuring the security of the district and worked more on the streets through central Somalia which was very difficult to be used since the over throw of Barre's government in 1991.

Lastly the Islamist commander of Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a troops in Abudwaq district addressed to both forces and people in the district saying that their troops will assure the security of the areas under their control in central Somalia.
