Lagos — As Nigerians anxiously await the outcome of this evening's quarter final match in the on going FIFA Under - 17 World Cup, First Bank of Nigeria, has urged the Golden Eaglets to go full blast from the kick off of the match to ensure that Nigeria beats Korea to enable the team qualify for the semi final of the tournament.
Speaking to sports journalists in Lagos at the weekend, the Chief Marketing Officer, Marketing and Corporate Communications Celine Loader said nothing but victory will be good enough for the team and Nigeria. While eulogizing the team for the spectacular performance they posted since the tournament began, Loader said that nothing but victory and a ticket to the semi final sage of the competition would gladden the hearts of Nigerians and Africans at large.
Her words " Nigeria is the only African team left in the tournament. Before the tournament, Eaglets were prepared to defend the title the team won in Korea two years ago. It will therefore be a remarkable experience for the team to overrun the Koreans on their way to clinching the title on home ground."
The chief marketing officer, however, advised the team to approach the match against the Koreans with tact and purposefulness. She warned against complacency saying that such action boomerangs with teams paying dearly for such mistakes. "The team should avoid underrating any team at this moment. They should approach every single match with vigour and every sense of seriousness. The team should not do anything that would be regretted by Nigerians at the end of the match."
Asked to predict the outcome of the match, she said the Eaglets would overrun the Koreans but also warned the team to be cautious of how it launches its attack because of what she described as the Koreans 'fast and devastating' breaks.
"The Koreans are as fast as the Eaglets. So, to be able to overrun them, Eaglets must watch how they attack."
