Kano — The 2007 ANPP Presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari has concluded all arrangements to declare the new political party he is going to decamp to with his supporters, in order to pave way for his victory in 2011 election. This was disclosed yesterday by a former member of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Umar El-yakub during a meeting of Coalition Committee for Buhari Groups (CCBG) held at Mambayya House, Gwammja, Kano.
He explained that Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed the possibility of his decamping to another party from ANPP, when he and other former House of Representatives members paid him a visit recently , saying the plan was due to what his supporters declared in the recently-distributed questioneers, and what is next now is to conclude the consultations with the rest of the parties that adopted him ( Buhari) for President in 2003 election . Alhaji Umar El-yakub said Buhari has told them that he will never decamp to PDP, and he will not stay in ANPP because he did not accept to be like a servant of PDP in ANPP by force, adding that to live in ANPP as a party is just like you are in PDP in another way.
He described the Coalition of Buhari Groups as a way of strengthening their struggle towards the realization of Muhammadu Buhari's ambition to be elected President of the country, stating that by teaming up all the Buhari Groups they would make sure that every one will be given chance to express his views and contest any elective position without it being hijacked by any body. Alhaji El-yakub urged them to unite themselves in order to ensure their victory in 2011, and to make sure that only those accepted by the people are to be given the mandate to contest any elective position.
Also in their addresses, the chairman of the occasion, Alhaji Kabiru Muhammad Gwangwazo and the secretary organizing committee, Alhaji Tasi'u Abdurrahman Kofar Waika respectively, said they have already registered 36 Groups and the coalition has 37 elders, adding that the purpose of the meeting is to get together all groups related to Buhari's ambition in Kano. They explained that Muhammadu Buhari has already endorsed their initiatives, and said what they came up with at the moment is the right thing, and advised them to try and get people to work together.
