A Nigerian film maker Mr. Victor Okhai has been appointed president of the jury of the international digital competition for long feature films at the 33rd Cairo International Film Festival.
The Cairo International Film Festival, which is the oldest and biggest film festival in the Arab world and the Middle East, holds from November 10 - 20, this year in Cairo, Egypt.
Okhai, one of the founders of the Directors' Guild of Nigeria (DGN), is a producer, scriptwriter, director and film consultant.
Currently the Director General of the International Film and Broadcast Academy, Lagos, Okhai is in great demand as a teacher and resource person on film locally and internationally and has delivered papers on the Nollywood phenomenon in various Universities and Film Festivals.
He is also a consultant to many organizations on film, television production and broadcasting including Channels Television, Imo Television, AIT, MBI TV, DeutcheWelle (Africa Department), BBC World Service Trust, Goethe Institut, Lagos, the German Embassy in Nigeria, and the Berlin International Film Festival.
As well as being director of the Mechanical Copyright Society of Nigeria (MCSN), Okhai has also been on the jury of many local and international film festivals.
