All is now set for the second edition of the International Colloquium on Teaching African History and Culture to the Diaspora and Teaching Diaspora Culture and History to Africa holding in Brasilia, Brazil.
The Conference, organized by Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization (CBAAC), the Secretariat for the Promotion of Racial Equality,( SEPIR) and the Brazilian Government opens on the 9th of November in Brasilia with over 500 participants being expected from around the world.
The four day Conference is scheduled to focus on six sub-themes which include, Methodologies and Challenges of Teaching African and Diaspora History, particularly at the primary and secondary school levels, Policies for Teaching African and Diaspora History and Culture, Gender and Women Issues in Africa and the Diaspora,Creativity Arts and Theatre among other issues.
A release issued by CBAAC and made available to newsmen states that in order to ensure a smooth and and highly rewarding Conference, an advance team from the Centre left Nigeria for Brazil on Sunday from where came a report that arrangements have been concluded for a successful Conference. The CBAAC team and officials of SEPIR and the Government of Brazil have been meeting for the organization of this Conference which has attracted global attention. Over 60 papers are to be presented at the Conference.
CBAAC is the Federal Government agency responsible for the preservation, promotion and propagation of Black and African Arts and Culture worldwide.
