Abuja — Globacom Limited, the Official Sponsor of Nigeria's FIFA U-17 World Cup team, the Golden Eaglets, has charged the coach Obuh tutored boys and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to remain focused ahead of today's clash against Korea.
Congratulating the team for their sterling performance against New Zealand the telecommunication firm attributed the resounding victory over New Zealand to the goodwill and support of fans all over the country and commended the NFF for providing the enabling environment for the team to excel. Globacom said since the improving performances of the Eaglets in successive games stemmed from the elimination of every source of distraction in the camp by the Board of the NFF, the team must remain focused in a quest to do the country proud. Globacom said it will continue to collaborate positively and constructively with the federation to ensure that Nigeria successfully defend the FIFA U-17 World Cup and enter the history books as the first host nation to win the trophy.
The company lauded the coaches led by John Obuh for bringing about a positive turn-around in the approach to the games and urged them to "keep up the good work and lead the Eaglets to rule their world" and that the offer of N50 million winning bonus to the Golden Eaglets was a gesture aimed at motivating them to achieve the extra ordinary by aiming for the highest laurel. The company called on the players to remain resolute as the challenges ahead are tougher than the ones already surmounted and focus on the game in Calabar against Korea Republic."
