Cape Coast — The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe, has made it clear that the fire outbreak at her residence last week will not distract her attention from doing what will benefit the people of the Central Region.

Speaking to the press on Saturday, the Public Relations Officer of the Central Regional Coordinating Council (RCC), Mr. Ike Afenyi Donkor, said fire gutted the minister's residence at about 4:00 p.m. last Wednesday, while she was on duty in Accra.

He said workers of the RCC did their best to quench the fire, but could not, and called the Fire Service to intervene.

According to the PRO, the minister's wardrobe, curtains and other items were burnt.

He said the cause of fire was said to be faulty air-conditioner attached to her residence.
