Janjangbureh — The governor of Central River Region (CRR) Alhaji Ganyie Touray has revealed that the villages of Nyanga Bantang and Ndowen in the Niani District, CRR north, will soon benefit from the ADB community water project from 2009 to 2010.

He made this statement in an interview with this reporter at his office in Janjangbureh on Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009. He added that due to the size of these villages, both of them will benefit from a borehole with reticulation system. Governor Touray noted that provision of clean and safe drinking water is a great concern to the APRC government, adding that this will go a long way in improving the health status of the rural people.

He advised that when these facilities are handed over the communities, the beneficiaries must take full responsibility and ownership of the facilities, as well as maintain the culture of regular maintenance and transparency in the management of the facilities. Governor Touray then commended the ADB for the humanitarian gesture they are rendering to the communities in his region.
