Arusha — A to Z cricket team proceeded to the semi finals after clobbering Swamibapa by 80 runs on Sunday,November 1 at the Friedkin Recreation Center, in the on going OLYSET Challengers Trophy 2009.
Batting first, Jagdish (51 runs), Amit (29 runs) and Dhiren (34 runs) put the score way past the reach of Swamibapa as they mounted a huge score of 177 for 6 in their 20 overs. Swamibapa in reply managed 97 runs which included a fighting 37 runs from young Mayur Dave. Pick of the bowlers for A TO Z were Changu with 3 for 28 and Dhiren with 3 for 17.
New comers Telugu, in the second game of the day posted a total of 100 runs for 6 wickets against Expats. Sagar and Sailesh were among the runs with 24 a piece. Elias was the best of Expats bowlers with 3 for 16. Expats batsmen soon wrapped the game up as they cruised through with 103 for 3 in 14.4 overs. Mehmood (32runs), Selva (23 runs) and Parth (20 runs) were enough from Expats to see them past Telugu's score.
A TO Z now lead in Group ONE, while Kilimeru are top in group TWO. 3 games are scheduled for Sunady 8th November 2009, with the first game starting off at 8am. These games will decide further who joins A TO Z and Kilimeru in the semi finals
