Arusha — To kick off their $80,000 Malaria Awareness and Prevention Project, Usa River Rotary Club has donated drugs and equipment to Holy Ghost Fathers' Clinic in Usa River.
Sister Honorata Lyimo and her laboratory staff were thrilled to receive a new microscope, a Hemacue haemoglobin meter, and 6 months worth of malaria drugs and multi-vitamins for adults and children.
According to Rotary officials, the Holy Ghost Fathers Clinic was selected to be a partner in the project due to their excellent record in malaria-diagnosis and treatment.
This is the first stage of a 2-year multi-part project being managed by Usa River Rotary Club in partnership with Saltash Rotary Club, UK. The project also includes a malaria awareness campaign, planting anti-mosquito trees, and spraying of dwellings in the Usa River area.
