Lamin A. Darboe

9 November 2009

Wayeto United FC have crushed new boys, Falcon FC on their way to guarantee themselves a place in the Final of the 2009 Lamin Nawetaan league on Saturday at Sanna Jatta Memorial Football Field.

They emphatically humbled Falcons four-one was as a result of a penalty shoot out after resisting them in the regular time of the match. Moses Gomez sailed the Nawetaan suspension freed new comers into the league when he authored a beautiful goal which served as an energizer for his team. Falcons which has been the tournament's revelation team and surprise package kept mounting pressure on the opponent to level the score line but their efforts could not pay dividend as their players in the front line failed to capitalize on their chances.

Wayeto United FC proved defiant in their lone goal to avoid the opponent from equalizing. As the second half resumed, Wayeto United who have the chance of progressing to the final devised new tactics to salvage their goals from being cancelled out. They partially succeeded until in the 63rd minute when Ousman Saidy catapulted in and cancelled Wayeto's narrow lead, thereby revising the game to the beginning. At around the end of the game, the two teams fought even harder to edge over each other but their strengths were at par.

In the ensuing penalty shoot-out, Wayeto Utd applied experience to out class the new comers by 4 goals to 1 to book their place in the final reception.
