The Cape Coast Constituency of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Saturday retained its executive members who worked hard to win the Cape Coast Parliamentary seat back in the 2008 elections, after 12 years of reign of the now in opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The election, which was supervised by the Central Regional Director of Electoral Commission (EC), Samuel Tettey, saw Mr. Christian Elvis Amoasah, the constituency chairman, and his crop of executives retaining their seats.
Others are Isaac K. Koomson, Vice Chairman, James Mettle, Secretary, Theodore Yankah, Deputy Secretary, Frank Yeboah, Organiser, Alhaji Suleman Mohammed aka 'Alhaji Ten Ten', Treasurer and Sharlot Danquah, Deputy Treasurer.
The rest are George E. K. Taylor, Propaganda Secretary, Abdulai Idriss, Deputy Propaganda Secretary, Amos Asifua, Youth Organiser, Edward Kuofie, Deputy Youth Organiser, pretty Priscilla Arhin, Women Organiser and Inna Issah, Deputy Women Organiser.
Speaking at the function after his election, Mr. Amoasah thanked the people for the confidence reposed in them, and gave the assurance that his team would work with the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Anthony Egyir Aikins, and Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Ebo Barton Odro, to retain the seat in the 2012 elections.
He called on the party members to forget the past and forge ahead in unity to retain the NDC in power in 2012.
Madam Sarah Yeboah, an electoral committee member of NDC, thanked the delegates for the manner in which they conducted themselves that ensured a smooth election in Cape Coast, and called on other constituencies to emulate the example.
The Central Regional Minister, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe, earlier appealed to the members to ensure a smooth election, in order to help strengthen the party.
Mr. Samuel Vallis Akyianu, Ghana's Ambassador to Serbia, who is also the Regional Chairman of the NDC, Ben Allotey Jacobs, Regional Propaganda Secretary, Mr. Patrick Aniagyei, Regional Organiser and Abeiku Aggrey, regional youth organiser as well as Paa Kwesi Yalley, who is gunning for the NDC National Youth Organiser position, attended the programme that was held at the Wesley Methodist Church Hall in Cape Coast.
