The Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Nii Nortey Dua has consoled dethroned IBF Bantamweight champion Joseph Agbeko to consign his recent setback to the dustbin of history, in his quest to reclaim the World title.
At the arrival of the former IBF Bantamweight champ on Saturday, the Deputy Sports Minister admonished that: "There is always another time. In boxing, there are always ups and downs, so don't worry, cheer up and stay focused."
He suggested that the boxer returns to the drawing board as soon as practicable as he strives to reclaim his crown. The Deputy Minister noted that: "When you lose as a champion, it makes you cautious, and I believe this will urge you on to strive for greater laurels."
According to Hon Nii Nortey Dua, though the defeat is painful, he considers it as good omen, saying "When you keep winning, there is the tendency of you getting complacent, and the day you lose, the damage is most often beyond repairs."
He expressed his outfit's confidence in Agbeko and promised the young boxer of the Ministry's continued support. Agbeko thanked the Minister for his kind words and promised to reclaim his lost crown.
