Tunisia: Music Show Celebrates the Sahara

Tunis — Located some 100 km from Douz in Southern Tunisia, Timbain hosted on November 7, 2009 music show dubbed "silence of desert" as part of the 2nd edition of the Tunisian Sahara desert tour "extreme sport".

This event aims at making better known the Tunisian Sahara desert through cultural events and music shows, said the Tunisian tourism investor and the organizer of the event, Mr. Riadh Lounifi.

The event is a blending of music, poetry and plays witnessed the participation of the lute player Riadh Fehri and the actor Hichem Rostom who read a selection of poems in the presence of major international musicians, accompanied by the Saxophone and string bass.

As part of the event, another music show devoted to saxophone was held in the early hours of November 8, 2009 in the same place.

To fit the majestic open space of the Sahara desert, the music show was given without any display of sound effects, lights or decorations.
