Kigali — AMAVUBI skipper Hamad Ndikumana a.k.a Katauti is one of five professionals set to jet in today ahead of Saturday's decisive Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Zambia. The Group C tie will be held at Amahoro Stadium.
Katauti together with Edwin Ouon of Cyprus AEL Limassol, Saddou Boubakary (Ahly Tripoli), Jean Paul Lutula (Brussels FC), and Louis Aniweta (Nea Salamina Famagusta) are expected to jet in aboard Ethiopian and Brussels Airlines respectively.
The five join Olivier Karekezi (Ham Kam) and Ukraine based striker Cyril Koun Kwame, who jetted in on Sunday.
It is still uncertain whether Difar El Jadida striker Said Abedi Makasi will be available for the crunch tie.
Karekezi has nearly spent a week in camp following a successful recovery from a thigh injury sustained in September while featuring for Ham Kam in the Norwegian second division league.
With only three days left to Saturday's showdown, Amavubi's head coach Branko Tucak knows that his job security depends on the outcome of this tie.
After five games, Rwanda remains rooted at the foot of Group C with a sole point out of a possible 15.
In 2003, Rwanda shocked Uganda and Ghana to reach the 2004 Nations' Cup finals which were held in Tunisia.
Rwanda needs a two-goal margin to realize their dream of playing at what will be their second Africa Nations Cup.
Amavubi's two-goal victory will leave the sides level on points, bringing goal difference and the head to head record into play.
