Uganda: Prisons Wallop Wildlife in Forces Soccer Gala

Kampala — Prisons started their campaign as inter-forces overall defending champions with a bang walloping Uganda Wildlife Authority team 5-2 in soccer yesterday, reports Samson Opus.

Ronald Atugonza netted a hat-trick while Isaac Kisubi and Charles Feni put the matter beyond doubt. Brian Arinaitwe scored a brace for UWA.

Football champions Police were held to a 0-0 draw by UPDF in the other match.

UPDF launch their track and field campaign today in what is expected to be a two-horse race with Prisons.

MTN Kampala marathon champion Patrick Musani, who is fresh from a high altitude training in Bukwo is the man expected to shoulder UPDF's hopes in the 10000m and 5000m races.

The annual championships, opened by the Prisons chief Johnson Byabashaija yesterday, also involve handball, netball, volleyball and darts.
