The Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) has craved for partnership and alliance with Israel's political parties to strength healthy opposition in Nigerian politics, among other things.

PPA's National Chairman, Mr. Larry Esin who led the newly elected party executive to the Israeli Embassy in Abuja noted that Israel has achieved remarkable development in democracy, agriculture and security, stressing that Nigeria has everything to learn from the Jewish nation.

He said opposition politicians have a lot to learn from Israel in order to keep the government on the right track.

"Nigeria should learn vibrant democratic process, agricultural development and security of lives and property which PPA is advocating in its manifesto," he said.

In his response, the Israel Ambassador to Nigeria, Moshe Ram, applauded the democratic procedure followed by PPA in pursuing national development especially in the areas of agriculture and security adding that Nigerian democracy which is nascent has achieved tremendous success as a multiparty system as well as freedom of expression.

Mr. Ram, however, described Nigeria and Israel as two democracies having unique features, stressing that collaboration between PPA and Israel political parties would be difficult.

"There is no equilibrium because the two systems differ," he said.

The envoy, however, promised that he would assist PPA in its bid to have consultations with major political parties in Israel.
