A 37 year old carpenter based in Koforidua in the Eastern Region, Mr. Francis Agbovito, has won the fully furnished 4-bedroom house and 4x4 Mitsubishi Pajero in the Vodafone ultimate rewards promotion.
According to telecom industry observers, the promotion is the largest promotion ever rolled-out in the country.
The house and the pajero, worth $1 million, will be presented to the winner, Mr. Agbovito, at well organised ceremony in Accra, in next week, Mr. Isaac Abraham, Communications Manager of Vodafone Ghana, has disclosed.
Though Mr. Agbovito won the ultimate prize last Friday, attempts to reach him on his mobile phone, proved futile that afternoon.
However, he was contacted few hours later, and screamed with joy, as well as thanking the management of Vodafone for the magnificent award.
Last Friday, which was the third and final draw of the Vodafone rewards promotion, saw several numbers drawn for 300 Vodafone branded phones, 50 ipods, five laptops, 10 GHC2,000 scholarships, four Yamaha motorbikes, and one Mitsubishi Pajero.
The ultimate draw promotion started in July this year, and ended on November 31st, in which Vodafone Ghana gladly gave away four 4x4 Mitsubishi Pajeros, 16 Yamaha motorbikes, 20 laptops, 200 ipods, GH¢8,000 worth of scholarships, and 1,200 mobile phones.
About $2.2 million was spent on the promotion, including the one million-dollar ultimate prize.
