Tunis — President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali received, on Tuesday morning, Socialist Democrats Movement (MDS) Secretary-General Ismail Boulehia who declared, at the end of the meeting, that he had been honoured to meet the President of the Republic and to have extended to him, on behalf of MDS cadres and activists, their consideration and sincerest congratulations on the two happy and concomitant events, namely renewal of the Tunisian people's confidence to the Head of State's person and celebration of the 22nd anniversary of the November 7, Change, which had defined the framework of New Era Tunisia's civilisational project.
He said, in this regard, that the unanimity which came out of last October 25 election testifies to the Tunisian people's maturity, awareness and determination to see to it that this stage will open up promising prospects that meet Tunisian men and women's expectations, and to carry on the process of reform and progress, under President Zine el Abidine Ben Ali's leadership.
He pointed out that the Change had enabled the country to achieved great accomplishments which would be further consolidated during the coming presidential tenure, as part of the ambitious presidential platform "Together, We Meet Challenges," which will guarantee to Tunisia's invulnerability and prosperity and allow it to join the advanced countries' ranks.
Mr. Ismail Boulehia said that he did sense the President of the Republic's determination and will to keep on vitalising pluralistic and democratic process which are among the priorities of his Programme for the next five-year presidential term.
He said in conclusion: "I conveyed to the Head of State commitment of the Socialist Democrats Movement, as a nationalist reform movement, to contribute together with all forces of good will, to reinforcing national unity, independence of our decision and our people's sovereignty, and to open up a new page under the motto 'More Dialogue and Participation.'"
