Tunis — The 14th edition of the "Carthage Theater Days" (JTC) which will run from November 11 to 22, 2009 in several theatres around the capital will be held under the theme "Theater without Borders".
With some 78 plays from 30 countries representing 3 continents and including 27 Tunisian plays, the festival will cater for all theatrical tastes. Tunisian plays will represent some 50% of the total number of plays.
Coinciding with the centenary of the Tunisian theater, the 2009 JTC edition also includes a tribute to the great Men of theater such as Hamda Alhmaydi, Mohamed Kouka and Fadhel Jaaibi from Tunisia. On the sidelines, courses on musical theater will be held. It will provide an opportunity to offer a practical reflection on this theatrical genre.
From November 16 to 17 an international symposium will be held on the theme "Whither Tunisian Theater? What future for world theater" organized by the National Centennial Committee of Tunisian theater.
Among the issues to be addressed during the seminar, the importance of theater and its relationship to the profound transformations defined in Tunisia and in the world.
During the meeting, several theatrical approaches will also be discussed as well as technical breakthroughs in "Analogue" and "Digital image", "Video-theater" and "Digital Theater."
