Zimbabwe: Dhewa, Sulumane Rock Revellers

Harare — It was fun as usual when Tongai Moyo and Utakataka Express and Sulumane Chimbetu enthralled revellers with their well-choreographed acts matched with good music in the Harare Gardens on Saturday.

Revellers, mainly ladies and kids could not resist to dance along to popular tunes from the two known sungura artists.

Although Dhewa has been on and off health wise, he appears to be holding his own and there is little doubt that the musician is determined to continue to entertain his fans.

Elsewhere in Domboshawa music outfit R&K African Sounds put up a good show when they performed at a joint along the Harare-Domboshawa Road at the weekend.

Although they performed without one of their members -- Rangarirai Sagombeto, who was reportedly committed elsewhere his partner, Kelvin Chikoore, steered the group well and Rangarirai's absence could not be felt as everything from the vocals to the instruments were in their proper place.

Revellers who thronged the open-space at the joint were left clamouring for more as the outfit unleashed their classical hits such as Tina and Postcard, among others, which took them down memory lane to the time when they were the in-thing.

The group also impressed with some songs taken off their just-released album.

It was also encouraging to note that R&K African Sounds was also grooming some youths that were just good on the microphone and the dance floor.

The energetic young men thrilled throughout the night although their act was almost marred by rowdy elements in the crowd.
