Kampala — AFTER the tantalising media adverts that required readers to guess which big artiste and American music star was coming to perform, Zain Uganda has officially made it public. It is celebrated R and B superstar Robert Kelly, aka R. Kelly.
The Grammy Award winner with a career spanning two decades, is set to perform at Lugogo Cricket Oval in a show dubbed the 'I Believe Concert.' "Zain is proud to be bringing R. Kelly closer to his fans in Uganda. Having been at the top of the industry for two decades, he has a wide cross-over appeal and a vast array of fans. He has something for everyone, from smooth ballads to chart topping dance tunes, the sort of creativity and diversity that we at Zain espouse," said Levi Nyakundi, Zain's consumer and pay phone's marketing manager.
"We are also making the preparation to the concert very exciting by giving our customers the chance to win over sh100m in prizes," he said.
"The concert is set to be an electrifying show and we shall pull out all the stops to ensure that Ugandans have the experience."
Nyakundi revealed that in a totally new approach, fans will have a say in which local artistes will get to perform alongside R. Kelly.
Zain customers will pick from 12 artistes, including big names like Chameleone, Bebe Cool, GNL, Radio & Weasel, Iryn Namubiru, Peter Miles, Aziz Azion, Grace Nakimera, Lady Mariam, Toniks, Cindy and The Obsessions.
