Nigeria/Tunisia: Tunisia Will Treat Mambas' Game Like Final-Jemaa

11 November 2009

Lagos — Tunisian international forward Issam Jemaa has told Lensois.com that he and his team-mates will approach their last World Cup qualifier versus Mozambique as if it was a final, as a draw or loss coupled with a Nigerian win in Nairobi against Kenya would spell the end of their South African dream.

"We have qualified for the African Cup of Nations, now this is an important match for the World Cup. We're going there to win and we're going to play this match like it's a final. A World Cup All players dream of it and we hope to get a positive result," he explained.

Jemaa will certainly be motivated come Saturday, since he narrowly missed out on Tunisia's previous World Cup appearance in Germany when he had to withdraw from the team at the last minute due to an ill timed knee injury.

The former Esperance starlet is Tunisia's leading scorer in qualifying with four goals to his name thus far, but he has not been getting very much playing time at club level recently.

It is not yet clear whether Carthage Eagles coach Humberto Coelho will include him from the start, regardless of his lack of full-time action at club level. But the fact that he has two players at his disposal in Amine Chermiti and Sami Allagui who have been putting in some splendid performances at club level recently, might make him think twice.
