Tatitown police are investigating a murder case in which a 36-year-old woman allegedly stabbed her husband after having a misunderstanding in Kgaphamadi location.
Tatitown Police Station commander, superintendent Tebogo Madisa said that the incident happened on Sunday morning.
"The deceased was reportedly stabbed with a sharp object on one of his hands and he died at the hospital. The victim is reported to have bled profusely," Madisa said.
He revealed that both the accused and deceased are from the North East District adding that the next of kin have not yet been informed.
Madisa said that the two were married and the deceased was staying in town, while his wife had just paid him a visit.
A neighbour, who witnessed the incident, said that the deceased was a taxi driver.
She added that a misunderstanding arose after the husband spent a night out of the house.
Upon arrival home, in the early hours on Sunday, the two are believed to have quarrelled with the deceased claiming that he had been at work, transporting revellers who were going for entertainment.
The wife then allegedly hit the husband on the left hand with a 750ml beer bottle.
She said that both the deceased and accused originate from Changate Village.
Thato Nthobo, who lives on the opposite street, said that she was awoken by noise as people were screaming in terror.
"I saw a woman collecting blood samples into a plastic bag while escorted by the police," she said.
Nthobo added that she did not see the deceased as he had already been taken to the hospital.
She said there was a pool of blood inside and in front of the house that was later covered with soil.
