"Whoever works with her expects to deliver to the letter," said the Western Region disaster coordinator. Among his priorities, he revealed to Daily Observer, will be to ensure the creation of people's awareness on disaster issues and capacity building initiatives.
"My role as the regional disaster coordinator is to coordinate all the activities of disaster committees within the region," he added, while commending President Jammeh and the government, the general public government the World Food Programme (WFA) for assisting flood victims in the region. It could be said that Mr Joof has earned himself a vast knowledge in disaster issues given the fact that he once served as a regional disaster secretary for the Gambia Red Cross from 1994 to 1998.
