Nigeria: Two Mopol Killed in Port Harcourt

Port Harcourt — UNIDENTIFIED gunmen have shot dead two mobile policemen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The hoodlums allegedly carted away N3 million belonging to a undisclosed company. According to a witness, who did not disclose his identity, the policemen were killed while escorting a bullion van of the company.

He said the deceased were shot along Abuloma road, Trans-Amadi Port Harcourt. Their remains have been deposited in the mortuary.

Confirming the killing of the policemen in the city, Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers Police Command, Mrs. Rita-Inoma-Abbey, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said the gunmen escaped to unknown location after killing the policemen.

She also said the gunmen collected their rifles and carted away the sum of N3m belonging to the yet to be disclosed firm. Inoma-Abbey also said no arrest has been made in connection to the killing of the policemen by the hoodlums.

The killing is coming on the heels of heavy shooting along some wager side axis in Port Harcout. No life was lost in the earlier shooting.
