Kumasi — The Kwadaso constituency of the opposition New Patriotic Party has elected 63 year old Businessman, Mr. Bonna Boadi as its new constituency chairman, to be the first constituency in the Kumasi Metropolis to conduct its congress after the rectification of the party's constitution.

Mr. Bonna polled a total of 232 votes to beat his opponents, Alhaji Attah, who secured 50 votes in the election which was held last Sunday under the supervision of the Electoral Commission. Contrary to rumours that the election would be wrought with violence, the constituency executives conducted a peaceful election in an atmosphere of calm and serenity to elect executives to steer the affairs of the party in the next four years.

Apart from the Chairman and the Women's Organizer positions, all the seven executives were elected unopposed, with Mrs. Constance Osei overthrowing the incumbent, Florence Saahene with 217 and 66 votes respectively. Both Edward Kyeremeh and Samuel Osei Bonsu, the first and second vice Chairmen respectively as well as the secretary and the two Organizers, were all retained unopposed.
