The manager for Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital, Setso Setso said that for the country to achieve Vision 2016, the pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation must be achieved.

He said this over the weekend when he received gifts from Barclays Bank valued at P16,500. The gifts included the microwave, oranges, a walker for disabled children, baby swing, home theatre system for maternity ward as well as wall display pictures.

The wards to benefit from these gifts are the paeds medical ward, maternity ward and the post natal ward."We must remember that we are still in a period of an economic meltdown, as a result our government has cut on spending by at least 10 percent this year, so we appreciate the support we receive from Barclays Bank. Our hospital has many similarities with your bank that includes caring for the needy, so it is important that we stay united to help them," said Setso.

He added, "even though our hospital is faced with many challenges, that does not mean we cannot provide the best health care".

The branch manager for Barclays bank, Odirile Masole said every year they have a community project to help those in need. "This year, we saw it necessary that we give these gifts to Nyangabgwe hospital," she said.Meanwhile, Bontle Dick, the Occupational Therapist at Nyangabgwe hospital said the main problem they face is lack of sufficient equipment for patients in the hospital. "We have children who were born disabled, others acquired disability as they grew up so all of these children require equipment such as walkers to help them. We have other children here suffering from Meningitis who require special care," stated Dick.
