Nigeria: Delta NUJ Rejects Fresh Land Allocation

Asaba — The leadership of Delta State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has rejected a fresh allocation of land to the council in replacement of an earlier one acquired several years ago which had since been re-allocated to some members of the State House of Assembly.

The Chairman of the council, Comrade Osita Biose and Secretary, Comrade Gilbert Olie, in a press statement in Asaba yesterday, said: "The council uses this medium to debunk the purported allocation of a new plot to NUJ and frowns at Mr Guanah's claims urging all journalists in the state to be on their guard as nothing will make the union lose the two hectares of land to private individuals."
