THE MMD in Northern Province has expelled its Provincial Youth Chairperson Dan Chisanga with immediate effect.
According to the letter dated November 11, written by provincial vice-secretary Jairos Simunyola, Mr Chisanga who was recently suspended over his statement against the Provincial Chairperson Grever Sikasote had been expelled after failing to exculpate himself.
"As if this is not enough, you have continued with the same insolence and arrogance by issuing Press statements against the provincial chairperson which are derogatory in nature and quite baseless.
We are fully aware that some political mercenaries have ganged up to discredit the current leadership in order to destabilise the party and find a way of capitalising on the confusion for their own political gain," read the letter in part.
As the province, Mr Simunyola said the MMD will not condone such unrepentant behaviour from a senior youth who was supposed to behave well.
"We therefore, recommend to the national executive committee that you are expelled from the party and join your fellow mercenaries so that you can form your own party.
By copy of this letter, the national secretary is requested to take appropriate action as recommended," read the letter which was also copied to all district chairpersons in the province.
Recently, Mr Chisanga was quoted in the media as having accused Mr Sikasote of causing the loss of the Kasama Central by-election.
