Kampala — THE case filed by Express FC challenging the legal existence of soccer governing body FUFA, will be heard in the High Court today.
Justice Vincent Zehurikize will preside over the case.
Express, through Muwema and Mugerwa Advocates, claim that FUFA is not legally constituted under the National Council of Sports Act.
Express urge that the federation president Lawrence Mulindwa, chief executive officer, Edgar Watson and the returning officer, Patrick Okanya do not vest any legal authority.
According to the suit filed by Kavuma Kabenge on behalf of the club in September this year, the club seeks orders to restrain the three officials from occupying office of a national sports association.
It also seeks orders to stop them from getting involved in national, regional and international football activities.
But the three officials want the case dismissed saying it lacks merit.
The officials say though FUFA is an unincorporated body, it was dully registered and is recognised by NCS.
Express also want the three officials to account for Shs2.8b that was received in sponsorship from the defunct GTV, MTN and grants received from FIFA and CAF.
