Abuja — Former chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima says he would pray for the Super Eagles and expect them to win Saturday's South Africa 2010 World Cup qualifier against the Harambe Stars of Kenya.
Galadima told reporters in Abuja at the venue of the commissioning ceremony for the NFF National Technical Centre and artificial turf that he would pray for the team to win in Nairobi and pick a ticket to represent Africa at next year's global soccer show.
"It will be a good match, but as a patriot I would pray for the Super Eagles to win in Nairobi on Saturday and be in South Africa next year", Galadima stated.
Speaking further, Galadima, who was the Chairman of Kano Pillars Continental Committee; praised the club for its semi-final attainment in the 2009 edition of the annual soccer competition.
According to the former NFF boss, the achievement recorded by Pillars in the competition was the first by any club in the history of the yearly continental soccer competition.
"I am impressed with the achievement of Kano Pillars in the CSAF Champions League. They were not sent out, they got to the semi-final of the competition and it is an achievement that no club has achieved before.
"No club has in the history of the CAF Champions League reached the semi-final in its first time of going into the competition, so it is a great achievement", Galadima stated.
