Armed gunmen have seperatedly shot and killed officials of the semi-autonomous region of Puntland in the port town of Bosaso and Garowe, the central town of Puntland adminstration, officials said on Thursday.

locals said that unidentified armed group ambushed and murdered Sheik Mohamed Abdi Aware, a chairman of the higher court of Puntland in Bosaso town in Bari region as he was from mosque which he prayed the evening prayer overnight adding that the muderers escaped by the time they opened fire to the deceased official.

Residents and people in the town had expressed concern and fears as the armed men with the pistols killed the high court official who then escaped instrantly.

More security forces from the adminstration of Puntland reached at the area where the murdering action happened and conducted search operations. there were people detained during the operation.

On the other hand reports from Garowe town say that a masked group killed Ibrahim Elmi Warsame, one the MPs of the semi-aotonmous region of Puntland.

Deceased Ibrahim Elmi Warsame was one of the eldest member of parliamentarians of Puntland and joined the legislators in 1998. more of the members of the parlaiment and people in Puntland expressed concern about his killing pointing out that it was a shocking accident.

Reports say the murderers escaped as they killed the MP in Garowe, the capital town of the adminstartion.

More security forces of the admisntartion of Puntland started search operations in the town on Thursday morning to get those who were the mastermind of the killing against the officials of Pundland and still continuing.

it is unclear the those who behind the killng actions against the officials of the semi-aoutonmous region of Puntland so far. But it seems to be part of the insecurity situations rising from the region recently in north Somalia.
